We collaborate with partners from industry, academia, and regulators to ensure that every project delivers for the marine environment.
A trial testing whether seaweed and shellfish can help improve coastal water quality in Scarborough's North Bay. Working with Yorkshire Water and The Crown Estate, we're measuring what our offshore units can do for the water we all share. More to come as we get closer to putting units in the water.
Our co-funded response to the Carbon Negative Challenge Fund, set up by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority to support the region's ambition of becoming England's first carbon-negative area by 2040. We grow seaweed offshore, absorbing carbon and creating habitat, while our harvest is trialled onshore at the Yorkshire Low Carbon Seaweed Hub, developing biostimulants and emissions-reduction products for agriculture across the region.
Our Founders
SeaGrown's journey began in one of the most remote and fragile environments on Earth: Antarctica. Aboard an icebreaker cutting through frozen seas, Laura was conducting climate research, while Wave was navigating the ship through unpredictable waters.
Witnessing firsthand the accelerating impacts of climate change, we knew we had to act.
